Hardy C. C. de France, Palakona Cane, 8ft. 2/2, Serial No. E25999 (1933)

Beautiful early rod with a plunge pin male that fits into a reinforced female ferrule; works well.

The highest grade Hardy from a dark time in British history: post worldwide depression and just before the grim shadow presented by Nazi Germany. This rod was probably fished while Spitfires and Messerschmitts left dueling sky trails, like mayflies dancing over a calm stream.

One original tip down about 2 inches (though the rod still casts well) and one full tip; all original dimensions and probably added later. This makes the rod complete in length and casting attitude.

A perfect joy to cast with a #5 modern or silk . Quick and fast and light to hand. I'll take this rod and never look back!

A rare to market piece ready to discover and fish.
