Heddon "Marvin Hedge" Bamboo Fly Rod, 3/1, 8ft. 4in. #335 Medium Weight Trout, #5 Line

Hedge, a world casting champion in the late 1930's, had Heddon use his tapers to create a line of "Hedge" rods. Not built from stock rods; each individually for specific purposes.

Special note: No other Heddon rod model has this unique taper design, departing from the light tip rod action of all Heddon rods to one that moves the taper’s bend to the butt section; thus more parabolic in nature and creating more balance and power.

Size 2F ferrule (blued), restored in deep purple silk wraps to match the original deep purple marbleized Heddon seat. Original cork; left uncleaned to resist ridging. Unique Hedge modified Wells grip with perforated holes to aid in slippage when wet.

Feels very comfortable. Heddon agatine stripper. I had a perfect session casting it with a WF pure silk line as well as modern line.

Almost never seen in real fishing form.
