H. L. Leonard 9ft. 3/2, “Tournament Model"

Rare original condition out of the Catskill region. A fine piece in every way and in fishing shape, circa 1920's.

One tip down about 1/2 inch. One silk top top and one for newer lines. I replaced the over-sanded grip with an exact copy (sad when someone sands away 90 years of history off a grip just to lighten it up!

Restored here at Redwing with a new finish but with all original wraps kept in tact. Perfect ferrule fit. All straight and tight and casts a #5 with ease.

I built an independent handle for the mid and tip section making a sweet 3/4 line 6 1/2 ft. rod.

It's not often that a rod comes along that tugs at my heart strings. Perhaps as Skues said “WBR or World's Best rod".

With original bag and tube.
